Mayor Dave Hodgson talks to local residents during the 2012 Village Tour Having held the first seventeen open street surgeries of his ongoing summer village tour, Mayor Dave Hodgson has thanked everyone who has come out to speak to him so far. Mayor Dave is once again getting out and about to villages right across Bedford Borough to enable people to talk to him directly about the issues that matter to them and their community.

This year's series of open street surgeries in all parts of rural Bedford Borough began on Thursday 17th July and is running through to Friday 29th August. A wide range of issues have been raised at the open surgeries, which have so far taken place in Ravensden, Wilden, Cardington, Cople Willington, Renhold, Great Barford, Roxton, Shortstown, Cotton End, Wyboston, Chawston, Colesden, Duloe, Staploe and Honeydon.

Commenting, Mayor Dave Hodgson said: "Many thanks indeed to everyone who has come out and talked to me so far. The village tour is intended to make it as easy as possible for people to talk to me directly about anything at all they want to discuss. People are always welcoome to arrange to see me at my monthly surgeries at Borough Hall or out and about around the Borough, but clearly it's not easy for everyone to make the time or to travel to do so. I'm therefore really grateful that people have been taking the opportunity to come out and talk about a range of issues. As you can see from the schedule, there are lots of visits still to come, so if I'm in your area please do pop along and talk about any important issues, concerns or even just to say hello!"
