There is only one fair way of funding the NHS and that is via Income Tax. I do not think many people would object to paying, say, an extra 2% if it were hypothecated. Call it the 'Health Tax', if you like. It would certainly be easier to collect than a Mansion Tax and more reliable than an extra tax on cigarettes and alcohol, to give just two examples that have been floated
