Hope and Hard Work

December 31, 2015 11:26 PM

May 2015 was a shock for us all, but in November 2015 Canada gave Liberals everywhere hope by returning a Liberal Government with the biggest numerical increase in seats in any Canadian election. We have the hope now it is the time for us to take on the hard work.

The Liberal Democrat Party has many members who would class themselves as ordinary people, but time and time again, history teaches us that ordinary people are capable of doing extraordinary things. People like you.

South Lincolnshire has seen many changes in recent years. Such changes whilst appearing to be challenges should also be seen as opportunities to champion the freedom, dignity and well-being of all individuals living in our community and to campaign for better services to meet the requirements of a growing population.

If the party is to achieve electoral success in the County Council Elections in 2017 and in the District Council Elections in 2019 so that we can demonstrate to the electorate nationally that there is a viable alternative to an unrestrained Conservative Government at the next general election the work starts in 2016.

In 2016 we hope to be able to organise social events locally so that all our members can meet with other likeminded folk. These may be in Grantham, Spalding, Bourne, Holbeach or the Deepings or indeed anywhere. Can you help organise these events? Have you any ideas for a social event? If so please reply to this message.

We also hope to run local campaigns. Are there any local issues that you would like to see the party campaign on? Are there any causes that are close to your heart? Do you have any expertise, skill or knowledge that can benefit the party? If so please reply to this message.

Sometimes a local by-election can arise without warning. Would you be prepared to be on a list of suitable candidates? If so please reply to this message.

Is there anything that you feel the party is doing or is not doing? If so please reply to this message.

The Liberal Democrats rely on its members. Ordinary people like you who have a voice in how the party is run and who have a say on policies. Without people like you there can be no party.

Thank you for being members of the South Lincolnshire Liberal Democrats and for your support.

We wish you & your families good health, and a Happy New Year
